Anchoring

The process of associating an internal response with some external trigger (similar to classical conditioning) so that the response may be quickly, and sometimes covertly, reaccessed.

Dr. Richard Bandler

An Interview with dr. Richard Bandler

Q. What is Neuro Hypnotic Repatterning (NHR) and how would you describe it?

Richard
Using the Hypnotic process to restructure people at the level of cortical pathways. Most of the problems and things that people do and bad feelings that they have, work automatically but they weren’t there when they were a baby. These are learned behaviors and when you hypnotically repattern someone what you are basically doing is teaching them not to get to what they don’t want to get. Archival memory systems always have to have up-datable memory where you put new information in front of old information. So if you teach somebody a new way to respond it makes it so that it is easier because they never get to the bad system.

This interview took place on Friday 28 July 2000 in Los Angeles USA. The interviewer was Kate Benson from Matrix Essential Training Alliance. Published with her permission. Continue reading →

A Singular Person of Multiple Qualities

Dr. Richard Bandler talks of NLP, Education and his hopes for the future

An interview witt Dr. Richard Bandler, co-founder of NLP - Neuro Linguistic Programming™, developer of DHE - Design Human Engineering™ and NHR - Neuro Hypnotic Repatterning™.

Kate: It is more than thirty years since you began creating Neuro Linguistic Programming with John Grinder. What are you most proud of out of all your many achievement?
I am most proud of my children. However, in Neuro Linguistic Programming I would say of all the work I have done, the work with Design Human Engineering is probably the most elegant and has been able to solve some of the toughest problems. Also I am most proud of the work I have done with clients, because until I came along most people never fixed a single client. If they did it was rare and now and then. My batting average is close to 100%. I have had people who have lost their sense of smell to schizophrenic, depressives and compulsives, people with a whole range of problems, and I have been very tenacious about making sure I found solutions for all these people. I think that is worth being proud of. Continue reading →
